Pressure Treated Wood over Koi Pond

Hi,

We are currently designing a deck that will span part of a koi pond. Will using pressure-treated wood have any adverse affect on the Koi? Only the deck framing will be pressure-treated. We will be using Trex or something similar for the deck boards.

RE: Pressure Treated Wood over Koi Pond

Pressure treated wood is treated with a copper-based chemical that may be toxic to koi. I suggest you try to get cypress instead. Or seal the treated wood with some exterior grade paint.
