I had a koi buisness for over seven years and two ladies had an old swimming pool in their yard they turned into a koi pond and they did very well, I have been over to their home to see it and it seems very successful and the koi are doing very well. This pool is concrete but it is an older pool. As for the size of your pool, your koi should be able to grow to maximun size easily, the more water the better, and with a lot of water maitenance is usually easier. It would be really hard to get the water level up to hot for the koi with a depth of six feet. Did you use a heater when you used your pool to swim in? If you didn't do you remember if the water got really warm? I would love to have a pond that big for my koi. Good luck!! |
