Best way to keep gold fish in 75-100 gallon pond over NH winter

I have a gold fish pond with a plastic liner 75-100 gallons two and half feet deep at the deepest spot. What is the best way of keeping a air hole in the pond so my five large goldfish survive the long cold New Hampshire winter?

I've no idea if this is the ''best'' way but I took one of those heating strips sold for gutters and tossed it in small pond and it kept an air hole with temperatures down to 11F°.

Inquire at Ponds and Aquatic Plants Forum - GardenWeb for other suggestions, perhaps.
