 o
temperature experiment

I have small rooted cutting of a tree from Thailand in a container.
It's essentially a heat-loving heavy feeder liking low-light situation in marshes.
The temperature both indoors and outdoors where I live is in the 53-63 range year-round. This tree wants to be at at least 80 degrees to be happy.

I would really like to warm up this plant 20 to 30 degrees *without* using a space heater, if such a thing is possible.

Some things that I've thought of are wall-o-waters, Gro-Therm, those wires that heat up soil (not sure if just heating the soil would be enough, those plastic domes that can be put on top of plants for a "greenhouse" effect, and even heat lamps.

Anyone have any recommendations as to any of these, or any combinations of these or anything else, that might work?

RE: temperature experiment

How big is the tree and how much do you want to spend? I achieved 80° in a cactus propagation experiment using an display aquarium and an aquarium heater. I put some water and the heater in the bottom of the aquarium. I put in a plant stand tall enough to be above the water and put my propagation experiment on the plant stand and then covered the whole aquarium with a sheet of glass and cranked up the thermostat on the aquarium heater. Soon the air above the water and my cactus experiment was at 80°.
