| I know I know...it probebly wont come true to seed, but i was snow bound and you do nutty things when you cant play in the dirt. So I planted about 6-7 apple seeds (from a golden delicious apple) into a pot and chilled the whole thing for two weeks. When I took it out, it took about two weeks to get a sprout. Only one sprouted out of the bunch (which thrilled me to no end) I now have it outside in a gallon pot and it has about 6 true leaves on it. Cool :) I am thinking I can either 1) bonsai it, 2) espilair it (since i've no room in the garden for a full grown apple tree) or 3) plant it in the our woods/prarie edge and let it do it's thing. |

the odds are pretty high that it won't come true if it even produces decent fruit at all in the 7 or more years it could take to normally mature. Fun tho to plant on the prairie edge. I know nothing about bonsai, and espalier will provide greenery but I'd rather have something that will be a known producer for the garden space. |
