It worked!

My first experiment...if it qualifies. I put a bunch of potted caladium bulbs on top of a drugstore heating pad and one sprouted!! I had read where others had waited weeks and weeks for their bulbs to sprout, and mine has gone and sprouted in less than a week. The only drawback, my heating pad turns off automatically every two hours, so I have to keep firing it up, so to speak.

RE: It worked!

I have used heating pads to jump start my seedlings. Its a very effective way of speeding up the growth process. I've also read about people using an upside down plastic container and filling it full of Christmas lights and using this as there source of bottem heat
