Coco Coir Please Help!!

Ok so I bought a brick of coco grow at Target and added water and everything so now I have some containers with the coco stuff. I have NEVER used this stuff before and need some tips and information. I wasn't sure whether i needed to add fertilizer to the soil or if it can sustain plants by itself like normal soil. I read on some other forums that people were mixing coco and soil together in a 50/50 mix. Is this better? Please help! Thank you!

I didn't know Target has it, cool! How much was it?

Yeah, this stuff is pretty much nutrition-less like straight up peat, only better draining, fluffier and higher pH.

You can mix in some compost/humus/manure or sprinkle Osmocote over it or keep up a regular liquid fertilizer schedule.

I don't see the point of mixing soil in with it.

Soil adds minerals. Many/most chemical fertilizers mainly contain NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium), and ignore all the other nutrients.
