Stapling seed packets to wood edging

I have some wooden beams used as edging around some flower beds. I found that I could staple the seed packets to this edging so I can recall the variety of flower I planted. I also have stapled seed packets to the deck, which is also one edge of the flower beds. Or to a wooden fence, which forms another edge in another of my flower beds.

Put them in a zippy-type sandwich bag first, zip-end down; then the rain won't make them illegible. I find they last a season, which is all that's needed.
