just heard an interview with this austrian farmer who invented "Permakultur". i'm getting his book next week, titled the agricultural rebel. he does not water, he uses only organic fertilizer and is strongly against monoculture. he has all the trouble you can get because he plants fruit trees in his woods, you are fined for that in austria. he is growing cherries and kiwis at 1500m which is amazing. next year he plans to sow rice.
if anybody is intersted in the subject i can continue once i read the book. - martina |

Martina, Have you discovered the Permaculture Forum here on GardenWeb? On that Forum you will find gardeners who are very interested in the subject and would love to know of the book you are reading and discuss the subject in depth. I would note that that Permaculture is just being rediscovered. You Europeans were experts in the technique over past centuries before electricity and other modern inventions which destroyed the village concept of living. |
