| One of my other hobbies is keeping reptiles, And some people keep venomous reptiles for the thrill of it.
I was wondering if I grew one marijuana plant but kept it small and took off all the buds how much trouble could I get in.For some reason its novelty is so attractive to me.
I will try to keep it an indoor plant by a window. |

| The problem with growing anything that might potentially be illegal under federal drug laws is that you may wave you rights in other unrelated areas. The case I was following, I have lost track of it, was a man in Washington state who had some opium poppies in among his flowers, as many of us do. He had a quarrel with the neighbors and they reported him to the DEA. Authorities came in an absconded with his antique firearms collection because of some Federal regulations about drugs and firearms. Keeping harmful things like rattlesnakes and harmless things like cannabis fall under different sorts of laws. |

| how did the neighbors know it was an opium and not a regular poppy.i mean for them to plan it out like they are doing a drug raid sounds dumb. i guess you do it at your own risk and hope you dont get caught. But on the other hand i live in a "no snitching" kinda street and people dont like the cops coming around. thanks for replying, and i guess i will stick with the deadly reptiles for now lol. |

| Growing pot is considered "drug manufacturing" by our government. This "crime" is a felony! Years ago I bought into the ads touting "if you buy pot from a dealer, you are an accessory to murder." So I figured I would grow my own and be a good citizen. WRONG! I wasn't able to take my sons hunting and I can't purchase a firearm to protect my family. It ain't worth it. |

Hi Had to smile when I read your post as there was a guy here growing something like 25,000 plants in a rented house using grow lights even hydroponics.. Anyway he commented to the TV crews "That it was only for personal use."lol. Had it been me I'd said for "medicinal purposes" lol gary |

Don't be such a baby - grow it! Are we going to be ruled by rules forever. Anyway, it has great foliage, statuesque and graceful......and the buds are good too! Christopher Lloyd, one of gardenings greats in the UK, used to grow it on his porch. C'mon, are we gardeners or wimps. |

I already have the seeds, but its too risky and i dont think its worth it. on the other hand its a really pretty plant for a weed.they're so lush and look so japanese mapleish. im keeping the seeds in the fridge for now, hope you guys dont see me as a drug dealer from this post lol, thats the scary thing about these post, you dont want people to look at you diffrently. |

| Since the plant grows very quickly from a couple of inches to several feet in a very short time. An adult flowering plant can be any where from 3 feet to more than 12 feet in good growing conditions you would not be able to keep it short enough for what you wanted. Rather than worrying about the seeds get rid of them. |

| wow,i guess I could just prune it whole bunch of times or grow it horizantly |
RE: growing marijuana

| it depends on what state you live in,here in oregon you can get a card and grow it legally.your right you can cut it back and keep it short. |

| Don't believe everything you hear. Growing one plant is NOT a felony in most states. If you claim it's for personal use and it's you first offense it will be nothing more than a fine and some community service. I know this for a fact because I've been there and can still buy guns. If you have kids that might be a different story. They have yet to legalize it here for medicinal purpose but when they do I will grow a plant or two. I could get a prescription from doctors for advanced osteoarthritis w/o any problems. I would grow it anyway for the beauty of the plant even if I don't use it. If it is legal for medicinal purpose in your state and you don't have kids I say go for it. |

My husband tried Keeping 3 "pot pets" (roll my eyes). I thought that this was a bad idea from a practical point of view. So, here is the result: He didn't water them, so I had to (argh!) The lights drew a lot of power and were in the place I use for my plant starts...in the living room! (argh!) He wasn't consistent with the lights and his plants started budding when they were 12' high (argh!) The plants had a definite aroma...it filled the house (argh!) Everyone entering the house is drawn to the lights and wanted to see what was growing...we are now supposed to be very cool people (argh!!) The plants are absolutely disease vectors...I'd never seen anything attract in so many bugs. I had to spray all of my house plants weekly with Safer, and my citrus trees will never be the same. (argh!) The good news? He won't try this again (aahhh!) ...and it was a week after I threw them away before he even noticed. |

| I think you should get them out of the house and grow, hide them in a poppy patch. :~)
It was legal before 1935 and one day will be legal again. I say legalize it and tax it just like alcohol. Quit wasting our tax dollar fighting it. Eric |

| People are so afraid of this, I have no idea why. It grows in the ground and its benefits are all natural. Its a plant. Enough said. Grow it and let me know how it goes! ;) I was not successful with a previous attempt. Tips would be nice haha Ash |
