Hello everyone! I once read in a book (Chicken Soup For the Gardeners Soul) a story about a woman who used to take rose blooms she recieved and treat them like a cutting. She planted them in her garden, and put a canning jar over them (to be like a little greenhouse), and let them grow. The author wrote that after some time, a new little rose bush grew. Has anyone tried this? Does it work? I'd really like to try it, but I don't know how to go about it.
Yes Terra, It works! I have successfully done this with cut roses my husband bought for me. The success rate was low (one out of six) but the one rose that took is the healthiest rose I have. He just bought be another bunch and I have been looking them over for potentials. Good luck I am so sentimental over that rose. Rhonda
