grafting chestnuts

I have horse chestnuts and was wonder if one can graft an edible chestnut to the horse chestnut successfully
Would appreciate any information on this particular guestion

Terry,

Although horse chestnuts are called "chestnuts" they are not related to "regular" chestnuts and a graft won't work.

Read about a guy that cross-pollentate chestnuts in the book Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver.

In this book..L'art de greffer p.266...ref..Jardin botanique de Dijon... we used Quercus robur like rootstock for chestnut(Castanea)..I have some littles trees(Quercus robur) and I want try..
