WANTED: rooting roses'

| Is it possible to root a rose cutting in water. If so when, where and how do I plant the cutting.

| I have never rooted a rose cutting in water. I suspect they don't work that way. I root mine in the fall, in the shade, over the winter. I do use a rooting hormone and I cover the cutting with a cut-off 2 liter soda bottle. I've had decent success with several varieties this way. I used to use the baggie method, but too many rotted (too much water?) so I switched and not only is it easier to root cuttings in the garden soil, I've gotten MUCH better success. Good Luck! :) |

| I have to take back what I said about roses not rooting in water--I had one do it! It was a Scotch Briar rose. I let it alone too long planning to stick it in the garden. This is the only rose I've ever had root in water, but I guess it is possible. :) |
