Does anyone have any experience with asparagus in South Louisiana.

I've read plenty of directions for Northern gardeners and have some advice from by county agent, but was wondering if any of you have asparagus beds.

Citysoil, hope someone responds. I'm getting ready to redo my garden and would love to dedicate a small bed to asparagus. Have you asked on the veggie forum?
