| Hi, I am not an expert or anything but I ordered 2 bushes called Thanksgiving Filberts from Richard Owen Nursery. After doing some research, these promise to do well here. They are supposed to grow anywhere peaches grow. If you are zone 9 then you won't likely be able to grow hazelnuts either as it is not cold enough in the winter. It is also suggested you plant two for cross-pollination. They are to make nuts in 2-3 years after planting. I will include the site I ordered from they might have more. I hope this helps. |

| I don't know about Hazel nuts/filberts. But. If it'll grow where you can grow peaches. Had a peach tree in zone 9 when I lived in NO below the quarter. My neighbor was trying to grow them from seed. One of the seeds dropped throuh the fence. That was the one that took. Before I moved, it was producing fruit. Despite the competition with my fig tree. |
