UL has a program for horticultural therapy. There are lots of nurseries. I'm not sure what the hiring situation would be--we have had, they say, something like twenty years of growth since the hurricanes. We're far enough north of the gulf not to be threatened with flooding, and even the winds are slowed down a bit by the time they get here. That may mean all the jobs are taken, or it may mean there are more opportunities because of all the new people. Things are booming, tho', so I would think your chances might be quite good.

There is a large concentration of wholesale and retail landscape plant growers in the area just south of Alexandria - Forest Hill, etc. That is probably your best chance of finding a job, but I have no idea if they are hiring.
