Does anyone grow boxwood successfully? My friend lives in Kenner, and she asked me if boxwood would do well in her yard. I think she is in zone 8b.
She wants to plant evergreen shrubs along her brick fence - any recommendations?

Toward the lower edge of their range, JAPANESE BOXWOODS need better drainage than elsewhere. 9A is listed as their absolute limit. With afternoon shade and adequately raised beds, I think they'll be fine in Kenner.

Drive uptown, and look at the boxwoods growing on St. Charles. That should give you an idea which sitings work, and which don't.
