Sorry to hear you're having a cold spell Mona.
We're in the upper 50's. That's cold enough
for me. I took a chance and planted a few
tomato plants and a few pepper plants. I do
this every year at the end of February. They
usually do fine. I don't blame you for covering
your prized flowers and your veggies that are
being eaten. I live in the city so I'd have
no idea what may be eating them. Good luck

We did have a very heavy frost last night. I'm not sure if would have hurt my daylilies or not, but better safe than in tears! It appears that you are making the best use of a small place and doing a very good job of it. I've always thought I would love living in a z9 area. You can pretty much garden all year long. I don't know if I would like dealing with Hurricanes though, so I guess there's always good and bad. I hope you can keep that young man interested in gardening. I think of all the years that I missed out on in my youth, when the old body would have been more willing. Enjoy your good weather and give that young man more love than he can stand.
