Caladiums - Where to Purchase in Alexandria, La area?

Hello,

I am located in Alexandria and looking to purchase some Caladiums. I don't know if I want the actual plant or tubers. Does anyone have any ideas of where I can purchase them here?

I am leaning towards the white varieties (Aaron, Candidum, White Christmas, & White Queen) but other colors would be great as well.

I ended up finding the bulbs and plants at Wal-mart. I also saw the plant at Lowes.

It's funny, when I went to these places before, the workers told me the didn't have any. I suspect that they simply had no idea of what I was talking about.

I was going to tell you Walmart. They always put out this display of assorted bulbs each year and always have Caladiums.

You can always check with local nurseries.

Also, the Home Depot in our area usually carries many varieties. (Their plants and bulbs seem to be a little better than those at Wal-Mart.) Our local store also has a horticulturist on staff; she has been extremely helpful.

what is the problem with caladiums? they used to be so pleniful and not that expensive. now the tubers are mediocre unless you buy ones that are $1+ each. was there a blight or something?
