do you all think it will get too hot? I was wondering if I planted the verbina in the rocks if it would kill it since the rocks would be soooo hot in July and Aug. ?

RE: ? about planting anual verbina in rocks

Here's what I do when things get really hot here. I cut back everything that has been beat down by the heat
or rain. Usually at the begining of August. By the
end of September everything is reblooming or making
a come back. The verbenia I received at a plant swap
last year is blooming like mad. It didn't die back
this winter, just a little frost damage that I
cut back. I cut some and brought to work with me
to brighten up my desk and now everyone at work
wants a cutting. It's such an easy plant to start
and spreads so nicely. I'm so glad I was introduced
to it. I say go for it. If if dosen't work out
caulk it up to experience and move on. Good luck
with your garden.
