Mums from Last Fall

I saved all my mums from last October (which I've never done), planted them in pots, and they are incredibly beautiful this summer. However, my concern is that I won't have my plants blooming when I want them to bloom: in the fall! How best to maintain these during the hot summer? Should they be trimmed regularly, and if so, when do I stop trimming so that they'll flower in the fall?? All input appreciated!!!

I have Country Girl chrysanthemums. I've already trimmed them once and will again before early July. Then no more till after blooming.
