Tomato Plants getting eaten

i check on my tomato plants every morning and evening, and i never see any bugs ... however i am seeing some stems from which the tomatoes should be growing from are cut short (as if having been eaten) ... how can i tell what is doing this?

Looks like flowers fell off before setting fruit. It's perfectly normal.
