| Down here it is really late (June 3) to set out plants. They would be setting fruit in our blast-furnace hot season. That's a tall order to expect from a tomato plant down here.
Is there anyone who can recommend a tomato plant that will still perform for me this late in the season? If I can't find the varieties ya'll suggest in stores, do I still have enough time if I have to start seed myself

I don't know if you could find it, but I have a Cherokee Purple

| What's really odd is this was one that was given to me last spring (yes, LAST spring). All I had to put it in was a chimmny pot, so I had to chop off some roots. I stuck it in there and it refused to die, and this year it has made some of its odd brown-green fruits (very good for an urban plant. Nobody else knows when they are ripe so I get them all.) |

| You can plant later this month or early July for a fall crop. I find that Sun Gold cherry tomatoes will keep producing in this heat. Don't think you can find transplants, so order seeds. drasaid, I grow Cherokee Purple too. Been battling stinkbugs for that first fruit. |
