The only wild rose I've seen around here is the Cherokee rose, and I haven't seen it here since the levee board began mowing the levees more than 50 years ago.

The swamp rose, rosa palustris, is naitive as is rosa arkansas, the Arkansas Rose, and rosa carolina, the Pasture Rose, and rosa setigera, the Prarie Rose. Rosa multifora and rosa bracteata, and rosa laevigata are not naitives even though they have naturalized all over North America. Rosa bracteata and rosa multiflora are considered noxious invasives in many parts of the country, so be sure to check to see how your state regards them before deciding to add them to a garden.

You can look up photos of each of these at HelpMeFind.

May be the Cherokee Rose. There are lots of them growing on the River Road in Covington--the Road that leads to St. Joseph's Abbey along the Boguefalaya River.

Though I'd been a number of years. I found a small wild rose. A creeping rose growing along the roads in rural Mississippi, just nort of Biloxi in the National Forest. I have no idea what it was. But like native lilies. When you see one you want to stop and take a look.
