I have been in my home for 10 years now and most of those years, I have been fighting a problem with keeping my neighbors bamboo from growing into my yard. I have continually cut it, dug the roots up and used roundup with no avail. My neighbor will go out every so often and spray the bamboo with roundup but has never tried digging it. I suppose bamboo can be attractive if properly kept up, but right now, it just looks like an over grown clump of weeds expanding at least 8 feet tall. What else can I do to keep this from creeping into my yard short of concreting along my fence line?

Have you tried digging a trench 6-8 inches deep AND wide on your side of the problem area?

Not yet, but I'm definately considering it. All I am accomplishing now is killing the grass that is underneath the shoots. Right now, they are close to a foot away from that fenced area and it looks like I will have to dig a six or seven foot long trench.
