Our purple/pink ginger plant has stopped blooming. Anybody has suggestions about making it bloom again?

RE: Ginger plants

If it's the one with the big kinda cones of flowers before the large leaves come up and the leaves are coming up now, keep it well fed and watered and it'll bloom again next year. It's not one that blooms repeatedly. There are so many gingers I may not be thinking of the right one, tho'.

Rob_peggy,

If you could post a picture it would be of great help. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of gingers and most will grow in Louisnana. If you don't have a picture, go to www.stokestropicals.com, click on gingers, click on Curcuma and I bet you'll find your ginger. My guess is Curcuma Elata.
