 o
Source in Baton Rouge for large trees?

Posted by natal (My Page) on

Last fall we had to cut down 6 tall (about 70') pines. Bought a few replacements, but they're all small. The tallest is a Nuttall Oak and its trunk diameter is only 3.5 inches.

I'd like to buy a larger Nuttall and something else this fall, but not sure the best places to look.

Suggestions?

TIA.

Least expensive place to shop in Baton Rouge for trees will be (in order) Natures Own, Plant Tech Nursery, Harb's Oasis, Clegg's and Louisiana Nursery to name a few.

There are a few smaller places, out of town with great prices, I like Piney Woods nursery, think it's considered in the town of Walker. Great prices and great trees.

Nana, is Nature's Own that nursery off Jones Creek? Never heard of Plant Tech or Piney Woods.

Bought a couple of the trees at Hilltop's fall sale and the others at Clegg's, but didn't see really large trees either place.

How about near Oakdale (zip 71463)?

I'm looking for at least 3 foot tall bare root trees... best sources near here?

Alvarez's nursery in Hammond has a great selection of trees and they are very tall. They don't ship their trees in, all are grown locally. Great prices too!
