Mammoth Sunflowers

I planted a variety of Giant sunflower seeds this season in Baton Rouge, Mammoth, Red Sun and more. This is my first try with these and I have to say I LOVE THEM! I have learned how to stake and protect them from slugs. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge or experience with Giant Sunflowers? Is it normal for a single stalk to produce 6 sunflower heads?
The very top has 2 heads and they stagger down above a few leaves. I can't find anything online that shows pics or info on multiple flower heads on a single stalk. Please let me know if this has been seen before. Pics to come soon. Thanks

RE: Mammoth Sunflowers

Most sunflowers put out multiple heads. If you cut off the older ones the new ones will be get larger too. Or you can keep the old ones on and harvest the seeds. Put the seeds into a paperbag and plant them next year for more sunflowers.
