Vegetable Garden question.

Is it too late to start a small vegetable garden in pots? I like in an apartment complex so everything would be in pots on my deck.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

I would like to do some herbs, snow peas, cherry tomatoes, etc.

RE: Vegetable Garden question.

It's never to late for a garden It may be late for the specific vegetables you want but if you are flexible in what you want to grow and willing to water maybe several times a day you can grow a garden in Louisiana all year.

I do not want to be specific about plants because I am by no means an expert but the Louisiana Extension service (and your local nursery) have great resources about what to plant when.

I would think you could still plant heat happy varieties of tomatos, peas and beans, Peppers like the heat and so does Okra.

Just remember that water and feading are very important to potted plant gardens during our hot summers.
