I am joining you at this site, as I believe we are in the same zones.........Does anyone know when I should plant pickling cukes in the panhandle again...Sept.???? I planted a crop early and they are already done for....too hot I am assuming.......I plan to do another crop of tomatoes.....but was not sure about cukes. Thank you.

RE: FL/PanHandle/Winter garden

I am south of I-10 in MS and some call it a wishfull 9:-)
I've just recently gotten into gardening since I found "Gardening in the Humid South" by O'Rourke and Standifer. This is an excellent text on gardening in areas with high rainfall, poor soil, and mild winters. According to planting calender in that book, cucumbers should be direct seeded in August for a winter garden. Hope this helps.

Here is a link that might be useful: gardening in the humid south
