I am so happy. It is finally raining. My last water bill was $128!!!. I so needed a break watering and my trees my hose can't reach needed water. WOOHOO!!!

Pattie, I am determined to get 2 rain barrels, but I don't want to buy them, so my next quest is to find a source of free barrels. My water bill was $92. It's rained here 2x in the last week, but not a whole lot. Still it's a relief!
Oh, and it's gotten cooler today, too!

| i don't have the water bill issue, i have a well for irrigation. but my lawn certainly loves the rain. luckily for me i got it cut Sat before the rains came, cause the drenching we are getting since Sat night means it will all shoot up. temps only got to low 70's yesterday, prior to Fri we had 23 straight days of 95 or higher, and at least 7 straight of over 100. my grass was pretty much dormant, but i bet it wakes with a vengance now. about the best thing about it is that the slow steady rain appears to be closing up many of the cracks in teh yard. i don't water my yard at all, just my garden. my neighbors who do water their lawns have water standing everywhere. later this week you will start to see fungus ontheir lawns, it happens every time. mine on the other hand will be a lush green with no fungus. |
