source for globe artichoke or kiwi plants

| would like to grow both here north of the lake in south LA. anyone had experience with these two plants or know where to get them? |

| Several very knowledgeable people have told me that kiwi do not do well here. The person that I respect the most explained it to me this way. He said, just give me all of the money that you expect to pay trying to grow kiwi and at least one of us will be happy. |

| thanks for passing on the info, was really looking for a vine that would cover a pergola and having fruit as a byproduct would be great. |
