FREE GARDEN WORKSHOPS & PLANT SWAP

Taking place Saturday, Sept. 16th on the beautiful grounds of Historic Jefferson College in Washingston, MS (near Natchez, MS), in conjunction with the Copper Magnolia Festival. The event is entirely free and open to the public. Workshop topics will include:

8:15 Early Bird Nature Walk

9:00 Making Natural Wreaths

9:30 Soil Sampling and Testing

10:00 Winterizing Your Lawn

10:30 Harvesting and Preserving Herbs for Winter Use

11:30 Plant Swap

1:00 Christmas Decorating w/Live Greenery & Natural Items

1:30 Roses for Southern Gardens

2:30 Composting and Lasagna Gardening

Topics will be presented by professors and specialists from Mississippi State University and Adams County Master Gardeners.

The Plant Swap is also free and open to anyone-just bring some plants to trade! It will operate on a bartering basis - you and another swapper decide on the terms, i.e, "two little plants for one large plant", etc.
