RE: Brugs

I don't know about yours, but I think mine are scruffy this year because it has been so dry--and hot too. I've noticed in the past they bloomed every time it cooled off a bit, but it hasn't done that much this year, and no matter how much water I pour on them it never seems to be enough. I'm hoping they'll come out of it if we ever get real rains for more than one day and the temperature moderates, at least at night.

It's the heat. Mine don't bloom in the summer, although my Ecuador Pink surprised me with a single bloom this week. They'll start blooming better when it gets cooler.

I have had the same problem with mine this year. I think it was the heat, although we seem to get a little "rain" of dew in the mornings - it just wasn't enough even with frequent waterings. Mine grew 2 new Y's and then made buds (after I finally hit it with bloom booster) and then they would turn yellow on the stems and fall off. One bloom on my I. pink stayed on and bloomed today. It has rained here the last 3 days and seems to be getting a little cooler at nights so I expect some bloom action soon!

What They Are

Brug is short for brugsmania or Angel Trumpet. They are a beautiful plant and sometimes will have over a 100 blooms at one time.GW has a forumn for Brugs also that is very interesting and you can learn a lot there.Once you get stsrted you get addicted to them because they are so pretty.By The Way welcome to Louisianaand to Garden Web.Any questions just post here and someone will help.I am in central part of the state on Toledo Bend.Welcome again
