| Mike has an update on the fig forum. Basically he lost his house in Arabi and still has the unfinished house in Mississippi. God bless him. |

| Have been in email contact with him. Yes, he lost EVERYTHING in Arabi and the MS house is still a work in progress. He's been working out of Baton Rouge with the United Radio Broadcasters of New Orleans. Dave |

Hi all :o) Weeeelllll I am alive as is the dog and wife ... I mean wife and dog ;o) Heres where I stand. I still have a house standing in Arabi and MOST people on my street can't say that. I spent last week getting my house full of what is now garbage, always was I guess, out onto the front yard. Lesson learned? I needed to simplify my life! I have now started on gutting the place back to the wall studs. So far the process has moved along pretty fast and I have just a little bit to go (writing this morning as I sit here waiting for the SBA site in Ca. to open so I can return their call .... why the government pick a location 2 hours behind us I don't know). After I get the house stripped bare I'll start working on killing that mold. After that it will just have to sit until we get water back in Arabi. I may be wasting my time in Arabi as I know the area is going be bulldozing as most of the houses are off thier foundations. My house is one of the very few still standing. I don't know how but I didn't even have a window break. Anyway the neighborhood is not a fit place to live now nor I imagine for who knows how many months. Every single neighbor I've spoken with say they are not coming back. Who knows I just keep plugging a way 'cause thats all I know how to do. If I did nothing I surely would lose the place from rot what with all of that wet junk sitting inside and the mold. Now with the place cleaned out and stripped its drying out fast. As to the house in Ms. once I get the mold dead in Arabi I'll start wiring the place in Ms. Oh and I got lucky up there as while I have trees down every which way they all missed my house and old trailer! I do still have a great deal of work there to complete but I hope to make one room 'home' while I work on the remainder. Then of course there is work. When the stations get back to N.O. who knows what will happen. Well let me end on a up lifting note. The house in Arabi is nearly stabalized, the place in Ms. survived with no damage and I still have my dog ..... and wife ;o) Mike |
