lantana look awful

| i am new to zone 7 but know that lantana is a great plant here, as it was for me in coastal LA. however, my lantana look awful right now. they looked great in spring and summer but now the leaves look whitish and kind of vein-y. they are not flowering. we have been in a drought but i have watered. we have clay soil here which i am not used to, i did amend the soil but did not do a great deal of soil prep. i did not till. i added organic matter, humus, and shredded bark mulch when i planted in spring. they are in full sun on the southern exposure of the house. any ideas what this might be. my plan is to cut them back becoz i do not like to use chemical treatments. i am putting beds in the back yard now and am doing raised beds. hope that will work better. |

| I hate to see questions unanswered, and hate to guess at answers! Your whitish, vein-y leaves might be spidermites, and you should be able to control them with a strong blast of water, or maybe several. It's been so dry! I don't like to use chemicals either, but Neem oil and Safer Soap also work and are I think considered organic. |
