Seasonal question

Could someone please advise: would it be usual to find roses, wisteria and gardenias flowering outdoors simultaneously in your state/s - and would the roses be scented or unscented? Would this be in late spring or early summer?

TIA

RE: Seasonal question

Hi, TIA
I live in the south central part of Mississippi in zone 8a,
so I can only speak of my own experiences.
During the months of April,May, and June,(late spring)
we often have roses, wisteria and gardenia blooming at
the same time. Although, the roses and wisteria usually
are a little earier than the gardenia. And yes, the roses
are both scented and unscented, depending on the variety.

Debbie, thanks for coming back on this one. Isn't it odd how different zone 9a can be, depending on where you are?!

RE: Seasonal question

It happens from time to time if conditions are just right. The Wisteria will be late and the gardenias a good bit early. I have never figured out why roses do what they do, so I can't help you there. We have the most azaleas from March through April. The wisteria usually blooms at the same time.

RE: Seasonal question

I live in metro New Orleans and in late March we have wisteria, roses and gardenias blooming; sometimes until the end of May.
