Ok, guys - we're gonna do it again. I remember some of you from year before last - the plant swap in the Ponchatoula / Hammond area. Remember how much fun we had?? Well some of the people on the antique rose forum will be joining us and I hope all that came last time will try to make it again along with some new friends. We're looking at March 18th or 25th, with most people wanting the 25th. Let me know your thoughts on this. I'm not on the forum as often as I used to be, if you need to reach me, my e-mail is eggshells@charter.net.

By the way, if you lost most or all of your plants, just come by the swap and we'll make sure you take some plants home. (that means you, Mike)

Mike as in me Mike ;o)
No promises her other than that I will try. My world is pretty screwy right now so thats the best I can do. The work schedule for now is unreliable at best.
That was a real nice swap. I'll stealing that snow ball bush of yours this is time ;o)Sorry I won't have the truck load of plants to dump on ya'll this time, like all of those ginger bulbs. I have as my only defense that I was younger then than now ;o)

Where is ponchatoula, I'll see what I can do.

I can bring cuttings though nothing rooted. Rooting hormone is cancerous and the last time I had it, my 3 year got in it. So no rooting hormone until he is older.

I'm wild sowing some of my seeds, so we'll see what sprouts. I'll probably have plenty of river birch plants that I can bring.

Has anyone heard from Mike (bigeasyjock) in the past month or so? Trying to get in touch with him via email, but have been unsuccessful.

Thanks,

Hey ya'll,
I had a great time at the last swap.
I'll see what I can salvage from
the yard and make plans to attend.
Can I bring any refreshments? I seem
to remember us having some and hate
to come empty handed.
Sherri you and the other gardeners
were so gracious. Let me just thank
you in advance for all ya'll did.

Did you pick a date for the swap? The weekend of March 17 & 18 is the plant show & sale in Covington at the Fairgrounds. I know many of our nurseries & growers were hit hard but they are trying to come back.

RE: Spring Plant Swap

I would be interested in comming to the swap! Just so I understand, is this a variety plant swat? Or am I in a forum for a specific type of plant? I'm afraid I'm not quite familiar with how the forums work yet. If this is a swap of "all" plants, I should be able to bring quite a few. Also, where will the swap be?
Thanks

RE: Spring Plant Swap

Hello,

The swap planned for Ponchatoula has been cancelled. There will be a swap at a friend's home in Baton Rouge on March 25. Some of you might remember Janet from the swap we had at my house. She'll be hosting at her house in BR. I'll ask her to post the details here in case you guys are interested. Sherri

The plant swap is still on for March 25th at Janet's house in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Details can be found on the Antique Rose Forum for there is a thread about it. There's going to be more than roses to swap.
