Are things getting better?

I was wondering how the camillias in your area that survived the salt water and winds are getting along? Do they look as if you will have a normal blooming period?

Mine didn't get any salt water but sure got 135 mph winds and they are leaning to the west a little but full of blooms.

Our camillias did not get the salt water but went through hurricane Ritas' winds. The trees that are still standing have more blooms than last year!

Mine got salt water (storm surge) about 1 foot up the main trunk and are looking fine, little wind beat from the beach but fine considering. The azaleas didn'tolerate the salt water well.

We were about 100 feet from the height of the storm surge. But got Katrina's eye. We lost one Camilia (early bloomer) I believe it was due to the wind. Our mid season bloomer is blooming. And there are buds on the 2 late season bloomers.

Strange. Seemed we had a lot more fall color this year from the plants that survived. I'm not sure if Katrina had something to do with it. Or the really dry fall.
