peas flowering but few pods

Hi! I have my first winter garden. I planted 3 kinds of peas in late november, all have grown and flowered but very, very few pods. One is Cascadia, the others i do not know, but one is a shelling pea. The few pods i notice have been on the east side of the plants?

It looks like the flowers bloom, then the stem behind the blossom shrivels after a few days.

BTW, we had a warm dry fall, a cold snap with hard freeze in Dec, and then warm again. Maybe they are confused? I know i am!

Any thoughts?

It sounds like the weather affected them. Hopefully they will snap out of it. No pun intended!

Ha ha! Yes, you are right and thanks for replying.

We have had weeks of warmer weather and all varieties are setting pods now. We had Golden Sweet snow peas in the salad last night. Strangest winter here. Just for kicks i planted a dozen Alaska shelling peas a few days ago to see what happens. They are only 55 days, so it might still be cool enough by then to get a few pods out of it. I am just learning.
