English vs. snap/snow pea performance

I grew Sugar Snap peas last year with good results, vines grew past my 4-foot trellis and we had plenty of peas until the gophers got my vines.

This year I upgraded to raised beds with compost/vermiculite mix and 7-foot trellises. My October plantings of Sugar Snap, Super Sugar Snap, and Oregon Snow peas are all vigorous, nearly 4 feet tall and flowering. However, my Miragreen shelling peas planted the same day are barely a foot tall and not as robust. All were sown direct with soil inoculant.

Does anyone have any idea why the shelling peas are not doing as well, all conditions being equal?
