Bill Best usually does not say much in his catalog about days to maturity so I asked him over at FB about beans that are earlier than others. Here is his reply:

"We don't have maturity dates for any of our beans, but I can comment on some that are earlier than others in our fields. The earliest beans I observed this past summer were the white Case Knife bean, the Doyce Chambers greasy cut-short, and Jack's cornfield bean which is a cut-short. The Noble Fall Bean,originally from West Virginia and which has been grown in Oregon since 1898, is tender hulled and fairly early also. The bush fall bean we sell is early but tough hulled, the only tough hulled bean we have. The Gallahar bean, which has been grown in Minnesota, is also fairly early and an excellent tender bean. The Gallahar is from Tennessee originally."

I have added Doyce Chambers Greasy Cutshort and Gallahar to my bean patch list.

Dick, I'll be looking to see how well they do for you. I'm not on Facebook but had a look at his new website, very impressive. So many beans still to try, so little time :)
