fava beans that are str8 from the pod or do you have to dry them first. i bought fresh favas , still in the pod . because i couldnt find anyone to trade with.lmk

I'd let them dry a bit. They probably won't sprout until they have dried. But I bet they will grow once you do this.

No harm in trying but I'm a bit doubtful. Fresh favas will be green and not fully ripe. But please prove me wrong.

I agree with Flora; you might not have good results with favas that were picked at the green stage for eating. Chances are that if they sell green favas in your location, there is an ethnic store somewhere near you (or an ethnic section in a grocery) that carries the dried favas. You would have better luck using them.
