They may have lived out their natural life-span if the weather is getting hot. They're cool weather vegetables and don't do well in hot weather and will fizzle.

You are almost certainly too hot now for peas in phoenix. You will probably have to start a little earlier next year or grow them in winter. My peas, I'm very sorry to report, were devoured by squirrels, but I'll try again next year. Isn't gardening fun. steve

Next time try planting them in January or maybe even December.

I planted them in December. I just checked them and there is one small flower growing on the plant. If nothing else, I'll try replanting them in October or november

I live in zone 9 (cool compared to Phoenix) and found out trough trial and error that peas are best planted in Oct-Nov-Dec in my garden. I am swimming in peas now. I also planted shelling peas in mid January and it seems I will get a crop, but for next year, early January will be my pea cut off planting date.
