It's too early for PE/PH peas. They will germinate only when the soil temp is around 65 degrees. You can check it with a cheap digital thermometer. I'm south of you and haven't planted mine yet since the soil temps are hovering only around 59-60 degrees lately, and I won't sow them until it warms up. If the weather resembles other years, that won't be until the middle of May or beginning of June.

Concur: Southern peas are a hot weather crop. They will emerge in a couple of days when the soil temperature is right. I planted mine last week and they are up and going. They can be planted anytime during the summer. Some folks here like to plant in June after the spring crops have finished.

Thanks for the heads up on the temps. That's probably the problem. I planted some peas late last summer for a fall crop and they came right up. I have some Giant Lima's, Snap, Pinto, and Kidney beans up now. And I just assumed the peas should've came up to. Anyways I'll keep a check the soil temp and replant them again and watch for improvements.
