Bean problem

My bean vines are beautiful. They have been blooming for weeks, but no beans. Do they need pollinating? My neighborhood is in the city and gets sprayed for mosquitoes every few weeks, so no bees. Could this be the problem? I've only fertilized lightly when I planted them.

What kind of "beans" did you plant? Common beans (Phaseolus vulgarus) are self pollinating. No bees needed. On the other hand runner beans (Phaseolus coccineus) can be insect pollinated, BUT they will not set in heat so they are not good for Florida.

I can't remember the name,but they are climbing snap beans. I appreciate your response and I'll keep better records from now on. I only have a small garden, the row is only 16 ft. The small package was from Walmart and didn't have any info on it except how to plant them. I'm 81 years old, widow, so my garden is getting smaller & smaller every year. Still love it tho.
