I have not seen one like that. But I would say "watch them!"
If they eat, chew, make holes etc then they are BAD GUYS. otherwise let them live.
A lot of beetles hunt other insects an are not harmful to plants.

I agree with Cyrus. Wait a bit to get an ID. It could be a good guy. Or not.

I agree he might not be a bad one but I suspect he probably is . . . he scurried after this photo was taken.
I do have a few leaves that are chewed on which is how I stumbled accross him. There were signs of "poop" under the area he was at. The photo is true to color; he does have an iridescent look to his black body.

If you see him jumping it's probably a flea beetle, especially if the leaves are chewed full of tiny holes.
