I remember as a child in North Alabama, my mother selling locally grown "October Beans" at her produce market. She would also bring some home and I would help her shell the colorful fresh beans. These were cooked for supper to go along with boiled new potatoes and buttered cornbread. Oh what the younger generations have missed!

My wife and I now have a small farm and room/time to grow our own garden. In searching for "October Beans", I find that there are dozens of cultivators that go by that name. The pictures of "Good Mother Stallard" look like what I remember. What specific cultivator would yall recommend that I plant?
