Black Pearl soybeans aren't black

Ok, the soybeans look ready to harvest. The pods are grown and the beans inside are plump (the size of the edamame at a Japanese restaurant). The only thing is that the beans are green, not black.

The photos of the Black Pearl show a black bean. Do they turn black when cooked? Should I let them grow longer?

The dry seed is black. The immature seed is green when young, or reddish just before it dries. I would suggest picking at the green stage, I found the skin of the beans to be unpleasantly thick at the later stage. Too bad, because they are more colorful then. The flavor is still good, though, even late... just pop the beans out of their skin with your fingers.
