If they are different from other varieties in the same bed it must be a characteristic of the variety.

Mine are the same way. I was attributing it to all the wet cool weather we've had. I'd actually feel better if it was characteristic of the plant.

Here's a picture of mine, which are still small (they are deliberately planted that thickly). They definitely have a chartreuse appearance rather than dark green:

Yes, these beans have leaves that are a bit yellower than the standard. They make a striking contrast in the garden with my other favorite, Royal Burgundy since the purple beans have especially dark leaves with purple stems.
